Please Note
The contents of this booklet are intended to assist individuals and families in coping with emergency preparations. This is a comprehensive collection of articles on preparedness. I have found it an essential guide to a large subject, which allowed me to narrow the broad scope of preparedness into practical steps relevant to my own situation.

Excellent book as one of the prepper videos on YouTube says. It has everything one would need to think about from how to begin to the deluxe preparedness plan and equipment for anything that may happen.

As the Disasterguy, I speak and write on emergency preparedness and disaster survival. I've camped out for more than 3 years of my life -- and wasn't in the military. I've concentrated on learning skills and gaining knowledge to become as self-sufficient as possible. Having given that intro, I'll add that since 1975 I have bought several shelves full of EP and disaster survival books. More than half were written by people who talk the talk but never walked the walk, in my opinion. The LDS Preparedness Manual V8 is the best general preparedness manual available on the book market today. I bring a copy when I speak and encourage people to buy one. I gave a copy to my stake president and stake emergency prep specialist. I highly recommend this book.

I have the soft copy, but always prefer a hard copy as their batteries tend to last longer :P Originally skeptical as to whether inclusions of discussion threads would add anything useful and was surprised at the amount and depth of the information in the topics covered. There is definitely plenty of good information that complements the information from the earlier editions and made it worthwhile to get the hard copy as a reference volume for my personal library.

Without a doubt, this is the best investment I have ever made. There is a tremendous amount of information on the internet, but even I know some of it is incorrect. I feel confident that the LDS Church has done it's own research and field trials to find the best methods to prepare. And I mean methods. This is not a "one size fits all" book. I am grateful that the LDS Church sells such a wonderful book to those people not of their religion. I cannot think of a better way to spread your gospel than to make everyone feel included and worthy of your knowledge. Now, if I could only find out about some food storage seminars in my area of the country!

I have been involved in prepardness programs for many years. Having taught survival courses in the army for many years. Many of the "Survivalist" websites are over the top for events that are useless for most people. This book is outstanding, giving those just starting to understand prepardness to those who have been over the top in preparation. The real life stories in the back are outstanding and very informative. Great work

I have read many NDE stories but this is by far the most informative book out there. I agree 100% with what Sarah has written. This is because experiences of some of my relatives describe some of the same things in their own NDE's. Truth always is the same yesterday, today, and forever. This a must read for all LDS members.
